Doctor Preacher Teacher

Three faceless men in vivid striped suits stand on patterned platforms against black canvas — a medical bag, a Bible, a briefcase marked “ABC.” Doctor Preacher Teacher is a powerful oil painting that honors the roles of healer, minister, and educator, and reflects on the limited professional paths historically available to African Americans. Bold multicolored vertical lines pulse with strength and possibility against the dark void behind them.

Doctor Preacher Teacher is available in 3 editions — each a different way to own and experience this work. Whether you're a first-time collector or a serious art investor, there's an edition for you.

How your print is made

Nothing sits in a warehouse. When you order, your print is produced on archival fine art paper or gallery canvas, then sent to my studio in DeSoto, Texas. I sign it, number it by hand, and pack it with the card that lets you watch the painting move.

That takes about two to three weeks. It is slower than a poster, and that is the point — you are getting a numbered print from a finite edition, signed by the person who painted it.

Paper prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Free shipping within the US.
